Murals

There are lots of people who do not know the meaning of a Mural. A Mural is an embedded picture or painting on a fixed surface such as ceiling, wall, floor etc. The Murals are existence from prehistoric times, the ages of kings and queens. In the ancient times, Murals were extensively displayed by the royal families to decorate their huge palaces. Since then Murals are there. But, now days Murals are just limited to hotels and museums. There are different techniques for creating a Mural. The best method is fresco. In this method, water soluble paints with a damp lime wash is used. The resulting mixture is spread over large permanent surfaces in desired patterns. Appropriate colors are used according to the design. These colors glow when they are completely dried. Now a days Murals can be painted in large number of ways with the help of oil or water based medium. And of course different styles are possible ranging from concrete realities to the purely imaginary designs. 

Murals play an important role in bringing the art into the eyes of people. A Mural creator must be authorized by a benefactor because of the cost & size of a Mural and also the amount of work required to create a Mural. Normally the creators are sponsored by the block of government concerned with art or by a businessman. Also the creators are rewarded for their creations through endowment. The exhibitions of Murals are significant for both its creator as well as for the city. With Murals, a creator gets fame for his creations and establishes himself in the field of art, and a city meets with the new definition of beauty in the form of art.   

Murals have been very efficient in obtaining communal equality or attaining a political objective. Murals include every type of paintings which are in accordance with law as well as those which are against law. The Murals which are against the law are delegated by café shops & bars. The Murals are some times created to grab the concentration of people with the help of visual effects present in a mural. 

There are some Murals which are known world wide for their role in communication between the people of communally, culturally and ethnically separated society in the period of disagreement. These world wide known Murals are in there in many cities like Los Angeles, New York & Philadelphia in United States, Mexico in North America, Derry in Ireland and Belfast in United Kingdom. Murals have also been placed on the walls, ceilings and floors of the some ancient monuments of the world including the some of the magical seven wonders of world, like Taj Mahal in India, the symbol of love. Murals are also believed to be the basis of conversation and helps in the successful execution of the dialogues. The Murals or civic art creations which are funded by the state government are sometimes used by authoritarian rule as a device for mass-control and disinformation.
